Project description:

As part of the LamoLab, we leveraged our expertise in microclimate sensing and mapping to address the impact of climate change on wine production. Rising temperatures have put pressure on established wine regions, forcing winemakers to adapt their practices. The interdisciplinary research project explored terraced vineyards with dry-stone walls, with a focus on how this practice influences local microclimate to facilitate the growth of high-quality grapes at higher altitudes. This involved mixed data acquisition through different surveying methods, including ortho-photography and thermography with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as well as stationary and mobile sensors.
