Project description:
Urban heat has different effects on both people and places. This project combined citizen participation with scientific data collection to understand Berlin’s microclimate. During guided city walks, participants documented their thermal sensations while mobile weather stations recorded environmental conditions. This allowed us to investigate the relationship between the built urban environment, microclimate, and human thermal perception both qualitatively and quantitatively. The subsequent insights revealed heat stress patterns, shaping new cooling strategies for more resilient and livable urban spaces.
