Cool School

Children are especially affected by heat, and they carry their knowledge far. Climateflux has therefore developed a teaching format that conveys urban climate knowledge and personal heat protection in an age-appropriate way. The format was piloted at a primary school and a secondary school in the MCube MOSAIQ project quarter of Moosach. Using the Climatewalks Backpack, the children explored their own school grounds, compared measured and perceived temperature, and developed proposals for a cooler schoolyard. The live transmission of the measurement data allows an immediate comparison of perceived thermal comfort and objective microclimate conditions on site.
